I finally got sick and tired enough of the sloppy feel of the T-nut on my Aloris tool post and decided to make a “corrective” base to bridge the wallowed out compound on my South Bend Lathe. Any of you guys out there with a lathe that came from a High School shop class probably know the situation I was up against. Milling Attachment (MLA-5 This milling attachment can be mounted on South Bend 9 inch and 10K lathes as well as on the S-4382 cross slide. It can also be mounted on the A-11 cross slide using the S-4382A milling base. The "T" slot vertical slide can be rotated 360 degrees on both the horizontal and vertical axes. "I already had the cross-slide. Used on the drill press for a while but it was too heavy for adjusting the table vertically, so I took it off. A wooden table attaches to the top of the cross slide, with a wooden hold down attached to that. There are no limit stops. Each turn of the crank handle is 1/10th of an inch.
